Congressman Jack Bergman of Michigan’s First District has endorsed Republican Congressional candidate and decorated army veteran Erik Aadland in bid for Colorado’s District 7

March 31, 2022

Jack Bergman serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the Veterans’ Affairs Committee. Prior to taking office in January of 2017, Congressman Bergman was a small business owner, commercial airline pilot for 22 years, and a United States Marine Corps officer.

As a fellow veteran, Bergman said Erik’s leadership experience will serve him, and the people of Colorado, well in office.

“Erik has seen combat and has led soldiers in one of the most elite troops in the military,” said Bergman. “The experience of working through tough situations, and helping his fellow soldiers do the same, is the kind of tenacity we need in Washington.”

Congressman Bergman retired from the Marine Corps in December 2009 at the rank of Lieutenant General. He is the highest-ranking combat veteran ever elected to Congress.

Erik’s remarks:

“It is a distinct honor to have the support of this highly accomplished Congressman and Marine Corps flag-officer who has courageously and devotedly served our country for decades in peacetime and war, both in and out of military service” said Aadland. “Congressman Bergman continues to honor his oath to the US Constitution by serving our country in Congress, and I will be privileged to follow in his footsteps.”
